I am a sculptural artist who uses different forms of media focusing on aspects of the body. I use the body as a primary material represented through forms of various textiles such as fabric, threads, rope, or paper. By incorporating my body with these materials it becomes a performative interpretation that is documented through photography or videography for later displays within the gallery. While these forms and performances focus on the figurative, I look deeper into the vulnerability and fragility of human disposition. I believe in expressing a curious wonder by deeper exploration within and through the viewer. Seeing the body as a material itself, I look towards the works of artists such as David Hammons and Zbigniew Rybczynsk through their ways of performance and expression.
